Research Assistants Wanted: Systematic Review on Medication Safety in Pregnancy
We are conducting a systematic review registered with PROSPERO on the safety of commonly used medications and supplements during pregnancy, focusing on maternal, fetal, and neonatal outcomes. This project aims to synthesize the evidence across psychiatric medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, stimulants), as well as other commonly used drug classes (analgesics, antibiotics, antiemetics, anticoagulants, antihypertensives, nutritional supplements, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and more).
What you’ll gain:
-
Hands-on experience with systematic review methodology (searching, screening, risk of bias assessment, data extraction).
-
Mentorship from a physician researcher with experience in women’s mental health and pharmacology.
-
The opportunity to be listed as a co-author on publications arising from the review (depending on contribution).
-
A concrete research experience that strengthens your CV, medical/graduate school applications, and future opportunities.
What’s expected:
-
Attention to detail and reliability.
-
Basic skills in reading scientific articles (training will be provided for screening tools like Rayyan, risk of bias assessments, etc.).
-
Commitment of ~10-20 hours per week (flexible, mostly remote).
